A Secure Framework for Medical Data Protection in Cloud Environments

The adoption of cloud computing in healthcare has transformed the way medical information is stored, accessed, and shared among healthcare providers. Although cloud platforms offer flexibility, scalability, and cost-effective services, they also introduce serious concerns regarding privacy, security, and compliance of sensitive patient information. Medical records contain confidential data that must be protected from unauthorized access, cyberattacks, and accidental leakage. This paper discusses the major security risks associated with healthcare cloud systems and reviews existing protection techniques such as encryption, authentication, access control, and anonymization methods [1]–[4]. In addition, a multi-layer security framework is proposed to progress the protection of healthcare data in cloud environments. The framework combines encryption mechanisms, authentication techniques, access management, and monitoring systems to strengthen confidentiality, integrity, and availability of medical information. The study concludes that integrating technical safeguards with regulatory and organizational policies is essential for building secure and reliable healthcare cloud infrastructures.
